A rental development fills as fast as prospective tenants can find the flat that fits them. This project in St. Gallen spans several buildings and a wide mix of layouts, and the letting team needed people to browse the whole inventory by rent, size, floor and outdoor space rather than work through a static list. We built it on the Vinode platform as an interactive 3D development backed by a live, filterable apartment browser, in German for the Swiss market.
What we were selling
St. Gallen is a multi-building rental development offering a range of modern apartments to suit different households, with rents quoted per month in Swiss francs.
Several buildings
Tenants pick a building first, then explore its floors and individual apartments from a single interactive 3D model.
A layout for every household
Apartments of 2.5 and 3.5 rooms, roughly 40 to 67 m², many with a balcony of around 4 to 7 m².
Garden and attic floors
Lower floors offer partial garden access and the top floors are attic apartments, so outdoor space and character vary by level.
Why the usual tools fall short
With 110 apartments across several buildings, the letting team needed more than a price list. The platform had to:
- Let people explore each building and drill into any individual apartment in 3D.
- Filter the full inventory by floor, number of rooms, living area, balcony size and monthly rent.
- Surface outdoor space and let people shortlist favourites, then show live availability so let flats never resurface as free.
How we built it in Vinode
We built the St. Gallen development as a single interactive 3D model, wired to a live apartment browser so prospective tenants move from a whole building down to one flat without friction.
A filterable rental inventory
All 110 apartments are listed with living area in square metres, number of rooms, floor, balcony size and monthly rent in Swiss francs, and can be filtered down to exactly what someone is looking for. Availability comes from the back panel, so each apartment shows as available or let in real time and the list stays accurate as the development fills.
Built around outdoor space
Outdoor space is often the deciding factor in a rental, so the browser treats it as a first-class filter. People can filter by balcony size, toggle garden access to see only ground-level flats with a garden, and read partial-garden and attic notes on the relevant floors.
Favourites and self-serve details
Prospective tenants can mark favourites to compare a shortlist, and download a per-apartment PDF with the plan and details. The whole experience runs directly in the browser with no app or download, so the letting team can share one German-language link that works on any device.
Results
Presenting St. Gallen as a live 3D inventory rather than a static rental list changed how people search:
Faster flat discovery
Filtering by floor, rooms, living area, balcony size and rent lets people reach a shortlist in seconds instead of scanning a list.
Outdoor space up front
Garden-access and balcony-size filters put the feature tenants care about most within one click, rather than buried in each listing.
Always-current availability
Because status comes from the back panel, let apartments drop out of the list automatically and people only see what is really free.
St. Gallen shows how a multi-building rental development benefits from a live, browsable inventory. By pairing an interactive 3D model with a filterable, back-panel-driven apartment list that leads with outdoor space, the developer gives prospective tenants a fast, accurate way to find their flat, and the letting team a single link that never goes out of date.
